Pros fast
Cons needs well thought-out cooling
Recommended it? Yes

With a simple Swiftech water cooling rig, i'm currently running mine 24/7 at 3.6GHz, not getting over 45-deg C with both cores occupied 100% on video-encoding tasks. i'm using an Asus P5LD2 MB, and i've cranked the core and memory voltages a bit (Corsair memory is running 1:1 with the FSB), but... Pros Easy to overclock, runs cool, doesn't use much energy.
Cons May require a large hsf replacement, as the stock HSF is not very good.
Recommended it? Yes

This is the processor I am using day in and day out and it is by far the best piece of hardware I have ever owned. Not only does it work perfectly and stay cool, it over-clocks like no tomorrow.

I have my little E8400 running at 4.0Ghz on air-cooling which was a lot easier to set-up than I... Read full review »

Pros Best value 4.0Ghz Dual Core 6MB L2 Cache processor available today.
Cons $165 less for me to spend on pizza.
Recommended it? Yes

Having built many PCs back to the days of paying $1,000 for a processor that ran at 100hz, recalling the progressions over almost 30 years has brought me to the point where justifying the purchase of another CPU has become nearly impossible due to the almost instantaneous launch and multi-task...
